Cavaliers or Pistons?
I had this debate over dinner tonight at Applebees, the All-American restaraunt, and it seems that I can't come to a final decision... Cleveland, or Detroit? Who's better, who do I want to win---I DON'T KNOW!!!
Cleveland is the more likeable pick, in my opinion. You've got pretty boy Lebron James and his pretty scowl after every made basketball...then you've got 'sheed "bald spot" Wallace. I swear everytime I see this guy I think, "you've got millions and you can't afford a toupe the size of a silver dollar!? But, enough about popular opinion, when you're looking at the skillsets of these teams I break it down like this:
Experience: Detroit
These guys have been there and done that. Some see this as a negative effect because you become lax in your approach, but for a team that's been tested before, Detroit is definitely the most experienced team left in the playoffs.
Star Power: Cleveland, duh!
No offense to Detroit, but Lebron James is a megastar, and he will give the Cavs a lot of hope towards a ring. No one can guard this kid, period.
Depth: Detroit
This is one of the topics I debated most with my friend, unfortunately--he's right. Detroit has two guys coming off their bench that would start for Cleveland, and although the Cavs have a great bench presence from Varajao, Gibson, and even Marshall, the Pistons depth and and experience at those key positions give them the major advantage.
To be continued...
